Objections to HEL 274 Edgwarebury Farm in Hertsmere Local Plan
1 I am strongly opposed to the use of the Edgwarebury House Farm land for building of 100 houses because of the major loss of Green Belt without Very Special Circumstances. The proposed development is in total contradiction to the professed and published aims of Hertsmere Borough Council and Central Government to preserve the Green Belt, especially around London as a' green lung' for public health, recreation and mental wellbeing.
2 This development is partly in the Elstree Village Conservation Area.
3 This development would alter the local neighbourhood character and encroach on the green countryside destroying wildlife habitats, adding to global warming and climate change. Any increase in human habitations inevitably displaces wild creatures with whom we should share the planet.
4 This development is land locked and would depend on the proposed HEL 1011 site being approved for access. The extra traffic caused by this development will further clog our overloaded roads in Elstree crossroads and Elstree Hill South. Elstree Hill is often tailed back with noise and air pollution from the car engines.
5 The infrastructure, especially local hospitals and general practices are overloaded now, and shortage of medical and nursing staff means new surgeries will not be able to function. This development will increase the problems for local residents.
6 Housing targets are being revised by Government. HBC can choose not to build in the green belt. They are suggestions only.
7 This site is likely to have been contaminated with fuel spillage and burning of toxic materials etc.
8 This development will not address the housings needs of the Local population.

Objections to HEL 1011 Edgwarebury House in Hertsmere Local Plan
1 I am strongly opposed to the use of the Edgwarebury House land for building of 20 dwellings because of the major loss of Green Belt without Very Special Circumstances. The proposed development is in total contradiction to the professed and published aims of Hertsmere Borough Council and Central Government to preserve the Green Belt, especially around London as a' green lung' for public health, recreation and mental wellbeing.
2 This is prime agricultural land and should continue to be used as such.
3 This development would alter the local neighbourhood character and encroach on the green countryside destroying wildlife habitats, adding to global warming and climate change. Any increase in human habitations inevitably displaces wild creatures with whom we should share the planet.
5 The extra traffic engendered will further clog our overloaded road grid. Elstree Hill is often tailed back with noise and air pollution from the car engines and this would increase the problem for local residents.
6 The infrastructure, especially local hospitals and general practices are overloaded now, and shortage of medical and nursing staff means new surgeries will not be able to function. This development would cause further problems for local residents.
7 Housing targets are being revised by Government. HBC can choose not to build in the green belt. They are suggestions only.
8 This will not address the needs of Elstree Village or Borehamwood Town.
