REMEMBER How to report an incident
If you believe odour is coming from the Reviva site at Elstree Hill South and now from Woodcock Hill Farm on Barnet Lane, and you consider it offensive then please contact the Environment Agency free Incident Hotline on 0800 80 70 60. The incident hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is very important that they receive complaints when there is an offensive odour present in order to allow them to build a picture of what is happening on the site. It is also important that the information received from complainants is detailed and accurate and that they receive it as soon as possible so that their actions have the most effect.
At a recent meeting of the E&BGBS Committee, Elsa Reyes, moderator of Facebook Pages "Shut The Elstree Nauseating Compost Heap", and Myk Tucker (STENCH campaign) attended to discuss the REVIVA site
Pat Strack gave an update on the Reviva site and also spoke about the smell emanating from the site on Woodcock Hill. The contact number for Hertsmere Council's Environmental Health (EH) is 0208 207 2277. Myk encouraged all to contact EH about the stench emanating from the Reviva site and ensure that their complaint was formally registered with a reference number.
A meeting with Oliver Dowden MP is to be arranged. (The meeting was held on Friday 20th October). Also consideration to be given to using an independent specialist company such as Air Spectrum to investigate and record the level of noxious odours and contaminants in the air around the site.
Elsa Reyes was interviewed by BBC Three Counties radio on the Andy Collins Show on Thursday morning 12th October at about 7:00am. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05gkgx1 and fast forward one hour.
